Configuring available memory

From Endrov

The number #1 problem for Endrov users is that memory easily runs out. Image analysis can drain your memory in no time, in particular if you are working on 3D/4D or multi-well datasets. We recommend at least 6GB RAM for professional users but the more, the better.

Setting the amount of memory

Look in the config/ directory. There are files such as javaenv.*.txt. Edit the one for your operating system.

Look for the -Xmx option. Here you can set e.g. 4000M to use 4GB of memory. Setting the value too high will prevent Java from starting.

To use memory in excess of 2GB (varies between operating systems), you need to have a 64-bit Java (this is NOT the same as using 64-bit windows!)
